Bucco's Look to Get to .500

Tonight, the Pirates will try to reach a milestone number the fans of Pittsburgh would be happy settling for at the end of October. Here we are in mid May and we only have 5 months left. The Pirates are red hot however, winning 7 of their last 8 and pulling to within 1 game of .500. The Pirates pitching has been spectacular from all 5 starters in the rotation. Even Phil Dumatrait out of the 'pen has been pitching solidly in his last 2 outings. Tonight, the Pirates send Paul Maholm (2-3 4.79ERA) to the mound against Todd Wellemeyer (3-1 3.56ERA). If the pitching holds up like it has, let's expect good things. A once potent offense that went cold is starting to heat up again. Buc's and Card's 8:15p. in St. Louis.
